The Grey Wolf, also known as Timberwolf, is the largest wild member of the Canidae Family. The coloration of Wolves varies greatly from snow white to coal black and all the intermediate degrees of cream, grey, and brown. A large male Wolf may measure over 2 m in length and stand almost 1 m high at his shoulders. Their weight can vary from 28 – 80 kg. The largest Wolves are found in Northwestern Canada.
Grey Wolves are highly adaptable and have thrived in temperate forest, deserts, mountains, tundra, taiga, and grassland. They have good hearing, a sharp eyesight, and a well developed sense of smell.
Timberwolves are generally harvested along with other Big Game Animals while hunting with Rocky Mountain Adventures. We encourage all Hunters to secure a Wolf tag, since there is always the possibility of taking a very nice Trophy.
Also, we do offer a Winter season Timberwolf only hunt in January and February.
Winter Hunts run 7 days. We set out several Wolf baits as well as use electronic and verbal calling. Depending on your desires your guide will take you by 4 Wheel Drive Truck, ATV, or Snowmobile to a Choice pre-baited area.
We run small personable camps, generally with only 2 hunters per camp, but never over 4 hunters, unless it is strictly your party.
